Our Chamber is a strong advocate of private enterprise, agriculture and tourism. In our greater Charlottesville region agriculture is estimated to produce more than $50 million annually in agricultural products ranging from apples, beer and corn to show and race horses and some of the finest wines in America. Charlottesville and Albemarle County have recently been named the top spot in the country for Agritourism by the website gogreentravelgreen.com. Agritourism is short for agricultural tourism and encompasses working farms, vineyards, breweries, ranches and orchards, and includes retail opportunities. The Albemarle-Charlottesville area beat out Northampton, Mass., Applegate Valley and Rogue Valley, Ore., Niagara, N.Y., the Finger Lakes region, N.Y., and Northfield, Minn., for the honor.
The Chamber Agribusiness Round Table focuses on issues and activities of particular interest and impact to the Chamber’s member businesses engaged in a wide range of agriculture-based and agriculture-related enterprises and associated tourism.
Monthly meetings of the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce Agri-Business Round Table are held on the second Thursday of each month at our Chamber office in the Chamber 20th Century Merchant’s Fund Conference Room at 10:45 AM. We do not meet during the month of December.
