Chamber Partnerships

The Charlottesville Albemarle Convention & Visitor's Bureau in addition to providing a wealth of information on the area to individual visitors, the CACVB assists tour operators, meeting planners, reunions and other groups to find attractions, restaurants, hotels and other visitor related businesses. Its mission is "to enhance the economic prosperity of City and County by promoting, selling and marketing the City of Charlottesville and County of Albemarle, as a destination, in pursuit of the meetings and tourism markets."

The CACVB originally received funding and support from the Chamber of Commerce. It is now funded by the City of Charlottesville, the County of Albemarle and private co-operative dollars. CACVB funds are used to directly attract conference, tour and leisure business. The CACVB also supports local events, attractions, restaurants and other organizations through web site exposure, cooperative marketing efforts, visitor centers, direct mail and trade shows.

The Charlottesville Business Innovation Council is the preeminent private-sector advocate and catalyst for entrepreneurship and technology-based economic development in our region. Formerly known as the Virginia Piedmont Technology Council + Charlottesville Venture Group (VPTC+CVG), our new name and identity became official on October 2, 2007.

We serve our members by providing advocacy, educational programming, and by bringing people together through our network of members and contacts. Our organization has over 300 individuals, companies and organizations as members, representing more than 11,000 people in the work force.

The Free Enterprise Forum is dedicated to providing clear positive balance to the discussions of important issues of the day. This balance is geared to counter what is often a vocal negative minority in the community.

The Free Enterprise Forum:

  • Promotes dialogue with local government
  • Sets a positive tone and pro business agenda with local government
  • Encourages government policies that support our free enterprise system
  • Provides critical information and analysis of issues of the day
  • Tracks more than 100 appointed commissions and boards
  • Researches issues to evaluate the situation and find potential solutions
  • Alerts businesses to issues that will impact their sphere of endeavor
  • Mobilizes businesses and citizens affected by government action

The SCORE Association is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth, and success of small business nationwide.  SCORE is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration.

We have more than 20 counselors in our chapter. We provide FREE consulting services to both start-up and existing small businesses in our central Virginia service area which consists of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Culpeper, Louisa, Madison, Nelson, and Orange counties.

The United Way–Thomas Jefferson Area is proud to announce its partnership with the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce in the United Way Insurance for Children Project to support area enterprises in assisting their employees meet their families’ health care needs. 

The Chamber will actively promote the program with its 1,000 member enterprises.   Local employees’ children may be eligible for Virginia’s child health insurance program, FAMIS (Family Access to Medical Insurance Security). Parents of children with health coverage miss less time from work caring for sick children. Children with insurance are healthier and more successful in school.
