TEDxCharlottesville Announces TEDxLIVE Tuesday, March 18

(February 12, 2014 - Charlottesville, VA) – On the heels of the wildly successful 2013 sold out TEDxCharlottesville event at the Paramount Theater, Starr Hill Presents and TEDxCharlottesville are pleased to present TEDxCharlottesvilleLive. The Paramount Theater will once again open its doors, on Tuesday, March 18 from 11:30am to 10:45pm, to host TEDxCharlottesvilleLive.

What is TEDxLive?  TEDxLive is a type of TEDx event where communities gather to watch the live webcast of the official, annual TED conference. This year's official TED conference takes place March 17 through 21 in Vancouver, BC and marks the conference's 30th anniversary; the theme for TED2014 is simply this: “The Next Chapter.”

On March 18, the Charlottesville community is invited to the Paramount to watch a free live stream from Vancouver, BC, Canada on the big screen.  Talks that day will include Bill and Melinda Gates, Sting, documentary filmmaker Yoruba Richen, peace activist Zak Ebrahim and many more.  The official schedule is available at TED.com or at TEDxCharlottesville.com.

Tickets will not be issued; seating will be on a first come, first served basis.

In keeping with the spirit of the TEDxCharlottesville event and the distribution of tickets to local schools and non profits, TEDxCharlottesvilleLive will once again reserve 250 seats for their educational outreach efforts within the community.
