A Message from the Chair of the Chamber Board of Directors
Patricia L. Cluff, University of Virginia Health System
It is an honor and a privilege to Chair the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for 2012 – our Chamber’s 99th year.
The Chamber’s dedication to advocating for private enterprise, promoting business and enhancing the quality of life in the Charlottesville area has never been stronger. We benefit from a strong foundation and remarkable assets including our members, our staff and our leadership. Businesses and civic organizations engage in our Chamber to build their enterprises and our community. We are committed to advancing a vibrant business community and an overall healthy community. This commitment is stronger when we work together, building upon our individual efforts. We have a history of making meaningful impacts on our community; with your engagement, we will continue that legacy of service.
Two cornerstones of our Chamber are member services and advocacy efforts lead by a dynamic team. Our member services span a broad spectrum of opportunities, including Leadership Charlottesville, multiple Round Tables, dynamic program and event offerings, business assistance workshops, partnerships and more. Our advocacy efforts represent thoughtful positions supporting local businesses across a range of issues such as government affairs, public policy, business and non-profit sustainability and business growth. In all that we do, the needs of our members are always our chief concern.
I want to publicly thank my colleagues on the Board. These individuals represent you through their time, perspective and effort. Their commitment to fulfilling our mission, providing guidance and serving you is meaningful. For that, I am grateful.
I look forward to working with you during 2012 and beyond to meet our collective challenges and opportunities and help make our Charlottesville-area communities a wonderful place to live and work.
Thank you.
