ATHENA Award Nomination Instructions

The Chamber's ATHENA Award actively supports and celebrates the ATHENA mission of supporting, developing and honoring women leaders and inspiring women to achieve their full potential -- creating balance in leadership worldwide. The Chamber's  ATHENA Award honors individuals who strive toward the highest levels of personal and professional accomplishment, who excel in their chosen field, devote time and energy to their community in a meaningful way, and forge paths of leadership for other women to follow. 

The Criteria

Chamber's ATHENA Award recipients must meet each of the following three criteria:

I. Professional Leadership: Demonstrate excellence, creativity, and initiative in their business or profession.

II. Community Service: Provide valuable service to improve the quality of life of others in their community.

III. Personal Leadership: Assist women in reaching their full leadership potential.

Completing the Form

• Nominations for the Chamber's ATHENA Award  must be submitted using this nomination form
• Although not necessary you may include up to two additional pages of supporting documents (i.e. resume, cv, etc.)
• The information submitted should support the award criteria:

o        Professional achievements

o        Service to others in the community

o        Promoting other women to meet their potential 

The Process

If using the downloadable form, nominations may be emailed to ATHENA(at)cvillechamber.com  or mailed to the Charlottesville Chamber of Commerce, Attn: ATHENA Award Selection Committee, PO Box 1564, Charlottesville, Va. 22902, no later than Friday December 16, 2011.   If you choose to use the online nomination form, thank you, it will be forwarded to the ATHENA Selection Committee for review and consideration.

A selection committee consisting of a diverse group of leaders from the Charlottesville Regional Chamber will exclusively review all nomination forms and select the recipient.

The ATHENA Award recipient will be announced:
