Oakencroft Vineyard and Winery received recent recognition at The State Fair of Virginia Wine Competition in Richmond, winning three Gold medals for their 2002 Merlot Reserve, their 2002 Petite Verdot, and their 2002 Dessert wine, "Encore." The winery was also noted for the label design on their "Encore" bottle, winning Honorable Mention for the Best Self Appeal in the Label Competition. So far this year, in addition to these Golds, the wines of Oakencroft in 2004 have won five silvers and six Bronzes.
