Thanks to a $2325 grant from the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services, Virginia Discovery Museum - Charlottesville, VA will be one of 144 museums across the country to participate in the Museum Assessment Program (MAP).
This grant will afford the Museum the opportunity to assess its strengths and weaknesses and plot a course for future improvements. MAP includes the completion of a self-study workbook, an on-site visit by a museum professional, and a confidential report of recommendations for change.
Peppy Linden, Executive Director of the Discovery Museum, said, "We are very excited to receive these excellent tools to help us achieve our goal of providing children and their families with a wonderful place to learn and play together."
