Dr. Heather Parrott, DHSc, is the Executive Director of Martha Jefferson House.

Dr. Heather Parrott was the chosen recipient of The American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) 2023 New Nursing Home Administrator Award. This award recognizes an ACHCA member who has been a practicing administrator for five years or less and has demonstrated exceptional commitment and potential as a leader, innovator, and motivator in post-acute and aging services.

Dr. Parrott has served as the Executive Director of Martha Jefferson House, a senior-living community in the heart of Charlottesville, since November 2021. Martha Jefferson House offers Independent Living, Assisted Living and Long-Term Care Nursing as well as therapeutic services to their residents and the Charlottesville community through Brookwood Therapeutic Services. Dr. Parrott’s knowledge and experience as a previous Director of Therapy propelled her vision to open Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy services in-house at Martha Jefferson House to benefit not only our residents, but the community in which we serve.

Dr. Parrott received the award on April 26, 2023, at the ACHCA Annual Convocation & Exposition. ACHCA is a non-profit professional membership association that provides superior educational programming, networking, and career development opportunities. While attending the Exposition, Dr. Parrott also received the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification, which is a testament to her constant drive and desire to seek professional development and excellence within the profession she serves.
