Andrea Copeland Named as Next President & CEO of the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce

The Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the promotion of Andrea Copeland to President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective immediately.
Since joining the Chamber team in 2012, Copeland has steadily advanced within the organization, demonstrating exceptional leadership in various roles, including Director of Leadership Charlottesville, Director of Member Education Services, and Chief Operating Officer, before serving most recently as Interim CEO.
“Andrea has deep connectivity with our membership,” said Jonathan Chasen, Chair of the Chamber’s Board of Directors. “As Interim CEO, she has demonstrated a unique blend of strategic insight, collaborative spirit, and a profound understanding of our region’s needs.”
“Andrea Copeland is a respected and influential leader in the Charlottesville business community,” said Dr. Mariane Asad Doyle, Vice Chair of the Chamber’s Board of Directors. “Throughout the CEO search process, members consistently expressed strong support for her promotion.”
“From her early days as a volunteer ambassador to earning nationally recognized certifications from the US Chamber of Commerce and the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, Andrea has consistently shown a commitment to growth and excellence,” Asad Doyle said. “We’re confident her experience and education will guide the Chamber into an exciting next chapter.”

A Charlottesville native, Copeland is an active member of her community. She is a committed mentor to local emerging leaders and serves on boards and committees for several organizations, including the Community Investment Collaborative (CIC), Charlottesville Albemarle Convention & Visitors Bureau (CACVB), Central Virginia Partnership for Economic Development (CVPED), Center for Nonprofit Excellence (CNE), United Way of Greater Charlottesville, Building Goodness Foundation, Virginia Film Festival, and the Emily Couric Leadership Forum.
Well known as longtime emcee for the City of Charlottesville’s annual Grand Illumination, Copeland appears frequently as a guest speaker and has hosted local radio and television programs on WINA and Charlottesville TV10. She has presented to statewide and national audiences of Chamber professionals on several occasions.
The Virginia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (VACCE) recognized Copeland in 2022 for her dedicated Chamber service. She graduated from the Institute for Organization Management in 2023, earning the prestigious IOM designation from the US Chamber of Commerce. In 2024, she completed the Certificate in Chamber Management (CCM) program offered by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE).
