LCAA to Present Leadership Awards at Member Breakfast

The Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce Leadership Charlottesville Alumni Association will host its 2019 Alumni Membership Breakfast meeting on Thursday, January 31, 7:30am – 9:30am at Farmington Country Club. At the breakfast meeting, the LCAA board of directors will present their signature Leaders’ Leader Award to Paul Beyer, founder of the Tom Tom Founder’s Festival and a 2011 Leadership Charlottesville graduate. The board will also introduce and present a new award, Community Leadership Award, to Lorenzo Dickerson, the founder of Leadership Albemarle and a 2018 Leadership Charlottesville graduate.  Antonio Rice, a longtime facilitator with Leadership Charlottesville and the Director of Development with The Salvation Army, will give the keynote address.

“We are excited about bringing back the alumni membership meeting,” said Bill Brent, LCAA board co-chair. “We’re especially excited about recognizing Paul and Lorenzo for the tremendous work they’re doing in our community. They both represent the hundreds of civically-engaged leaders who are part of LCAA and who make our communities better for learning, working, playing and volunteering.”

The Leaders' Leader Award recipient is a Leadership Charlottesville graduate whose body of work models the spirit and mission of Leadership Charlottesville through demonstrated initiative, vision, and responsibility, investing their time and efforts to contribute to the community. Their tenured leadership has provided the people of Charlottesville with a better community in which to live, work and serve others. The Community Leadership Award recipient is a Leadership Charlottesville graduate who fulfills the program mission through the contemporary actions, guidance and creativity they have shown toward bettering this community. Their development of innovative new project work has provided unique value to those in the greater Charlottesville community.

Formed in 1985, the Leadership Charlottesville Alumni Association (LCAA) is an alumni organization for the graduates of the Chamber’s Leadership Charlottesville program. LCAA is dedicated to continuing the networking, learning, and community activities stimulated by its members' participation in the Chamber program. In 2018, the Association awarded $3200 in scholarships to applicants in the Leadership Charlottesville Class of 2019.
