From Library Study Sessions to Dance Floor Grooves: How Good Times Only is Connecting Charlottesville Through Music
When Krissy Muniz wanted more opportunities to dance, she decided to create them. In 2021, she founded Good Times Only, a Charlottesville-based business that brings silent disco experiences to events across Virginia. What began as a creative side project has grown into a business focused on connection, music, and community.

Turning an Idea Into a Business
Krissy was inspired by the silent disco trend popular at music festivals and saw an opportunity to bring that concept to local events. Her company provides wireless headphones that let participants choose from multiple live DJ channels, creating a shared yet personalized experience.
Good Times Only has taken silent disco into some unexpected spaces—including a library, where students went from studying in the stacks to dancing under disco lights. The format makes it easy to transform almost any setting into a lively, inclusive atmosphere.

Meeting Krissy at Common House

Earlier this month, Chamber staff members Zachary Hall, Membership Coordinator, and Jenna Huber, Marketing and Events Coordinator, met with Krissy at Common House Charlottesville to learn more about her work and see some of her equipment in person.
From portable DJ setups to the signature color-changing headphones, Krissy explained how each element helps her tailor events for different audiences. Whether it’s a brewery, community fundraiser, or private celebration, her goal is to create experiences that bring people together in memorable ways.
Giving Back Through Events

On October 25, Krissy will host a public silent disco at Random Row Brewing Co. to benefit the Sexual Assault Resource Agency (SARA). Beyond just a fun night of dancing, the event emphasizes community engagement and giving back—two elements central to the Good Times Only mission. Attendees will not only enjoy a memorable evening of entertainment but also support a local organization making a real difference in the lives of survivors.
Advice for Fellow Chamber Members
As an active Chamber member, Krissy encourages other local entrepreneurs to stay engaged and make the most of networking opportunities.
“Attend all the networking events that you can, and don’t be shy,” she said. “Introduce yourself, pass out business cards, and try to stay connected afterwards.”
Her story is a reminder that small ideas—backed by passion and persistence—can make a lasting impact in the community.
