How Charlottesville Chamber Members Collaborate

When local businesses and organizations work together, the whole community wins. The Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce has always believed that the strength of our region lies in the connections between our members. From animal shelter visits to holiday toy drives to co-hosted networking events, our members are proving that collaboration is one of the most powerful tools a local business can use.

Here is a look at some of the inspiring ways Charlottesville Chamber members have been partnering up in our community.

Cav Futures Foundation partnered with the Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA to bring UVA basketball players to the shelter for a visit with the animals. The experience connected student athletes with causes they genuinely care about, and it gave the SPCA a boost of visibility and community spirit.

This partnership is a great example of how Chamber members can support local nonprofits in ways that go beyond financial giving. Sometimes showing up is the most meaningful thing an organization can do.

Charlottesville City Lifestyle Magazine and Mill Creek Veterinary Clinic: A Local Media Partnership That Works

Charlottesville City Lifestyle Magazine and Mill Creek Veterinary Clinic have built a relationship that benefits both organizations and the broader Charlottesville community. Mill Creek advertises with the magazine to expand their reach across the region, while the publication has also featured editorial coverage spotlighting the clinic's outstanding work.

It is a natural and effective model: a trusted local media outlet and a quality local business, each helping the other grow while keeping Charlottesville readers informed about great services right in their backyard.

Charlottesville SHRM and Ronald McDonald House: Members Who Give Back Together

The Charlottesville chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has long believed that strong organizations invest in their communities. This past December, SHRM members collected unwrapped toys for families served by the Ronald McDonald House of Charlottesville.

Chapter President Sarah Wiegman and Director of Member and Community Engagement Courtney Valladares delivered the donations personally. It is a reminder that community impact is most powerful when it is personal, and that Chamber membership is about more than business growth. It is about being a good neighbor.

Charlottesville Tomorrow and C-ville Creator Hub: Two Neighbors, One Great Event

Charlottesville Tomorrow and DSIS's C-ville Creator Hub have come together to co-host this month's Chamber After 5, the Chamber's signature after-hours networking series that brings local business leaders together for food, drinks, and meaningful conversation. The event takes place on Thursday, March 12, 2026 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at 300 East Main Street, just off the Downtown Mall, where both organizations now occupy newly renovated spaces on two floors of the same building.

Charlottesville Tomorrow is a fast-growing, independent nonprofit newsroom dedicated to covering what matters most to our community. Their team is excited to show off their renovated office, supported by the Building Goodness Foundation and the Perry Foundation, and to connect with local businesses around their plans to expand coverage of innovation and business in 2026. C-ville Creator Hub, meanwhile, is a dynamic workspace for creatives offering a professional Podcast Studio, a fully equipped Rehearsal Space for musicians and audio professionals, private meeting rooms, and open coworking space. Their team is actively building out resources based on community feedback.

Together, they make for a natural pairing and a great reason to come out and connect.
