A Message from Our CEO

Welcome to the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce!

As a native of Charlottesville, this community isn’t just where I work, it is home. My journey with this Chamber began nearly 20 years ago when I signed up to be a volunteer Ambassador. What started as a way to meet people and expand my network quickly grew into something much more meaningful. Over the years, I have had the privilege of learning, growing, and serving in several roles within the organization, eventually becoming its President & CEO in June 2025—the first Black person to hold the position in the Chamber’s history.

Economic vitality is at the heart of our work and at the center of our mission and vision. Everything we do—our programs, events, advocacy, and partnerships—is grounded in these principles. They help us maintain focus on the work that truly moves our business community forward and supports the success of our members.

Why Charlottesville?

The City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County are home to a world-class university, a thriving healthcare sector, a dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem, a vibrant tourism and hospitality industry, and a growing innovation economy, to name just a few. Just as important are the area’s rich history, collaborative spirit, strong civic engagement, and four seasons of natural beauty. Together, all these attributes make doing business in Greater Charlottesville a rewarding experience.

Today, our Chamber is entering an exciting new chapter. Our focus is on strengthening the foundation while creating new opportunities for businesses, leaders, and the broader community to grow and thrive together. Together, we are building a stronger Chamber, a stronger business community, a stronger region.
