Guy Browning is Senior Vice President - Fulfillment for Macmillan Publisher Services (MPS). He is also a member of the Chamber Board of Directors.

What was your first job?

I grew up on a mixed farm, as the youngest family member of working age (6!) I obviously got the best jobs. We had a pigs, chicken, sheep and cattle as well as fruit orchards. I'll let you fill in the blanks as to the exact nature of my first job but I can say that it involved a shovel and I didn't get to see too much of the orchards....

What’s your go-to comfort food?

I'm British so obviously curry.

What is unique about your organization and the work you do in our community?

We distribute books across the USA and the rest of the world. Both historically and currently books have had a huge influence on society be they nursery rhymes, great beach reads or college textbooks. Being part of an industry that has such a beneficial impact on people's lives is hugely rewarding and Macmillan offers ongoing and substantial support to local charities that promote literacy for children.

What’s your favorite local activity for out-of-town guests?

My wife is infamous for her tourist boot-camps for visitors from the UK - if the jet-lag doesn't get you then the non-stop tourism will. Favorites have to be Monticello and then brewery or vineyard visits. Also Fridays after Five when it's running.

Who are you grateful to, and why?

My parents for their love, guidance and support.

We thank MPS for supporting the Chamber through our Partners in Trust program.
