What does your organization do?
Charlottesville Organizing provides professional organizing services including de-cluttering, packing, unpacking, space design, product research, and organization of spaces throughout your home.

What's the most important thing you want people to know about your organization?
We’ve been an established business since October 2014, currently having serviced over 300 homes in Central VA. We don’t just organize – we can de-clutter, help design your space for optimal function and organization, take items for trash, recycling, donating and selling. We aim to be environmentally conscious and encourage recycling and donating items to various organizations to keep them out of the landfill.

Tell us about something new and exciting your organization is doing.
We’re building our social media presence. We’ve long relied on word of mouth but are excited to learn a new skill and join the various online platforms.

What services or products do you offer?
Organizing, de-cluttering, removal of items for donation/recycling/trash, space design, product research & purchasing. We do provide organizational products for projects but also use what clients already have or help them purchase items that will work best for their space and need.

What makes your organization stand out?
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service and building relationships with our clients. Many of our clients have been with us for years and that means a lot to us. We strive to make our clients feel comfortable and help them build an organizational system that is tailored to them so it will be maintained.

Tell us about one of your recent success stories.
We recently had a client who had to downsize significantly after various life events, undergoing surgery and was very overwhelmed by her belongings. We successfully cleared out a large storage unit – keeping items and giving a lot to various donation centers. We made her smaller space work for her and she feels proud of her space and very comfortable in it. What she thought was going to be a negative experience turned into something positive.

What accomplishments are you most proud of?
Making the leap to leave a steady job and start a new business, especially in an industry that was not well known, what a huge risk. The risk has paid off tremendously. The biggest unexpected accomplishment has been the satisfaction of helping ease the burden off people’s shoulders by helping to get their homes in order.

Home organizing is about so much more than “stuff”. It’s about helping people take control of their lives. This realization, the close relationships developed with so many clients, and the comradery we feel together as organizers and with our clients, has been a wonderful, unexpected surprise that makes us all proud of what we do.

What Chamber benefits do you appreciate as a member?
The networking opportunities are wonderful. We also appreciate the support provided by the Chamber and their guidance with helping our business grow.
