What does your organization do?
I equip organizations to grow confident, values-driven leaders from the inside out—through leadership development, Core Values work, and strategic communication support.

What do you like about being a Chamber member?
Being part of the Chamber connects me with other values-driven leaders who care about growth, community, and impact. It’s a space where meaningful conversations turn into real partnerships—which is part of what drew me to serve more intentionally through BWRT. That kind of shared momentum is rare, and I’m honored to help strengthen it.

What is unique about your organization and the work you do in our community?
My approach to leadership development is deeply personal and identity-based—because I believe confident, ethical leadership starts from the inside out. I support both individual leaders and entire teams through Core Values coaching, strategic development, interactive workshops, and keynote talks that prioritize self-awareness, communication, and long-term impact. I’m especially passionate about equipping leaders across generations—developing those who lead today, while also preparing the next generation to step into leadership with courage and integrity. In addition to consulting and coaching, I host the Stand Tall & Own It podcast and bring the annual Live2Lead leadership experience to Central Virginia—creating accessible, high-impact learning for leaders at every level.

What was your first job?
Lifeguard, Daecheon Beach, South Korea. Growing up in the Republic of Korea had its perks—but walking down the street to get a part-time job wasn’t one of them. We spent summers at Daecheon Beach, a unique expat-friendly spot on the west coast. As soon as I could, I earned my Red Cross certifications in lifesaving and water safety instruction, eventually becoming head lifeguard the summer before my senior year. Daecheon has one of the largest tidal shifts in the country—up to 100 meters at low tide—which meant hauling a bamboo lifeguard stand across a football field of wet sand just to stay close to swimmers. That job taught me what I can do (even as a short, determined teen), what it means to lead in tension (including firing a friend who ghosted his shift), and that strength doesn’t always look the way people expect it to.

How did you choose the field you're in?
In many ways, this field chose me. I’ve always been drawn to helping others grow—especially in ways that impact how they show up and lead. After years in education, ministry, and academic administration, I realized I didn’t enjoy “managing”—what I really wanted was to train, equip, and empower. I also learned through my own journey with anxiety and self-leadership that clarity around identity and Core Values isn’t just helpful—it’s transformational. Now I equip leaders to lead from who they are, not just what they do—grounded in purpose, driven by values, and prepared to make a real impact.

How do you like to spend your days off?
I love quiet mornings on the deck with coffee, time in the garden, or a long walk to clear my head. In summer, you’ll often find me poolside with a great podcast, a playlist full of tunes, or just soaking up the sounds of the birds. I’m also a big Formula One fan—so race weekends are a favorite kind of recharge.

What is your favorite quote or piece of advice?
In a world where we’re constantly influenced by social media, news cycles, and the noise of the crowd, one of the most powerful skills you can develop is critical thinking. You’re allowed to slow down, ask better questions, and challenge the false choice of either/or thinking. Trust that you have what it takes to work through complexity—you’re more capable, more insightful, and more resourceful than you’ve been led to believe. Your Core Values are the most reliable filter you have for making clear, confident decisions that actually reflect who you are. Don’t outsource your thinking.

What else would you like to tell us about yourself and your work?
I believe leadership isn’t about titles—it’s about how you show up, make decisions, and use your voice. My work is all about helping people lead with courage and integrity, whether they’re running a business, managing a team, or shaping the next generation. In addition to coaching and consulting, I host an annual leadership conference here in Central Virginia—Live2Lead—and partner with organizations to deliver workshops, keynotes, and values-based training that helps leaders thrive from the inside out. I’m committed to building a community where values-driven leadership isn’t the exception—it’s the norm.
